MRSI has assisted many emergency practices in designing in-house, ED records that facilitate both facility and professional component documentation and thereby improve compliance and financial performance. We review any order sheets used in the department and both the nursing and physician records. For the facility component, chart design changes typically include developing processes and procedures to prevent ancillary service denials (such as CT’s) based on local payer medical necessity policies. We focus on facilitating documentation of medical necessity at the time of service. MRSI will help your staff document the appropriate medically necessary reason for each test or ancillary study at the time the test is ordered.
